graduated from the University of Adelaide/Australia with a Bachelors Degree in Commerce.
He then worked for an international management consulting firm and joined the mutual fund industry in 1998 as a management committee member (of a German Asset Manager).
As a member of Citibank Northern Europe’s Leadership team (in charge of Belgium & France) in Brussels, he managed the third party fund business.
Before Murat founded Funds@Work AG (end of 2001), which he now represents as the responsible board member, he assumed a role as Senior Manager at Fidelity Investments.
Murat has a Master of Business Administration degree from the Kellogg School of Management/USA in joint cooperation with WHU/Germany and its network programs at Tel Aviv University/Israel and Hong Kong University of Science and Technology/China SAR.
Murat also holds a Master of Laws degree from the School of Law at Northwestern University (NLaw) in Chicago. He has a Doctorate in Business Administration from the well known IE Business School (Instituto de Empresa) in Madrid and devoted his empirical dissertation to “Multiple Ties and Social Capital`s Impact on Board Membership” specialising in social network analysis and visualization , analysing social networks`effects on organisational outcomes.
He serves on the Dean`s Advisory Board of WHU - Otto Beisheim School of Management and is a Member of the Strategic Management Society and the International Network for Social Network Analysts. Murat is also an Advisory Board Member of Itijah (Europe-Arab World), a very fine initiative run by the NGO Common Purpose and has been in charge of over 200 projects in Europe as well as in the Gulf Region for Funds@Work.
